Le gouvernement britannique premier à condamner la tentative de Coup d’Etat

J’ai suivi la situation à Madagascar, avec une préoccupation croissante et ai été particulièrement troublé par la perte de vies dans les troubles actuels. L’atmosphère de confrontation et de la désorganisation qu’elle a provoquée ne servira qu’à aggraver la vie de la majorité du peuple malgache. Toute tentative de suppression d’un gouvernement démocratiquement élu par des moyens anticonstitutionnels est inacceptable. Le président Ravalomanana et son administration ont été élus par des élections présidentielles et parlementaires qui ont été approuvés par les observateurs internationaux. Leur légitimité démocratique doit être respecté, et toutes les parties à Madagascar devrait se conformer à la normale du processus électoral.

Foreign Office Minister Lord Malloch-Brown issued a statement on the unrest in Madagascar, 18 February 2009.

I have been following the situation in Madagascar with growing concern and have been particularly disturbed by the loss of lives in the current unrest. The atmosphere of confrontation and the disruption it has caused will serve only to worsen the lives of the majority of Malagasy people. Any attempt to remove a democratically elected Government through unconstitutional means is unacceptable. President Ravalomanana and his administration were elected through Presidential and Parliamentary elections that were endorsed by international monitors. Their democratic legitimacy should be respected, and all parties in Madagascar should abide by the normal electoral process.
